European School Radio, the First Student Radio, participated with enthusiasm and success as a Media Sponsor at TechSaloniki 2025, the biggest tech event in Thessaloniki, held on May 16–17 at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.

With a dynamic two-hour live radio broadcast—professionally produced by the student journalism team of the 3rd General Lyceum of KalamariaEuropean School Radio captured the pulse of technological innovation and artificial intelligence through the eyes of the younger generation. The team had been trained through the program “Broadcasting on European School Radio – Journalistic Production”, proving that student journalism can thrive even in a high-level international tech setting.

The broadcast featured:

  • Interviews with companies participating in TechSaloniki

  • Discussions with alumni and university students attending the event

  • Presentation of the Kids Radio Europe project and a conversation with members of the research team

  • A live music segment, featuring a student who has stood out for two consecutive years in the “Make it Heard” competition

European School Radio’s presence was supported by a custom-designed radio booth, where the Production Team handled the music curation (DJ set), live streaming, technical support (sound and video recording), and of course, social media coverage.

A special highlight was the presentation of the European platform youthradio.eu, which made its debut with its own booth, attracting a large number of visitors. This new digital tool, which promotes youth journalism without linguistic or cultural barriers, was introduced to the public directly by the students themselves.

Among the many activities, students also attended presentations, including a talk by Ms. Marina Delianidi, PhD candidate at the International Hellenic University, from whom they conducted an interview—further enriching their radio experience.

Once again, European School Radio proved that the voice of students can be lively, well-informed, and full of inspiration, even in one of the most demanding tech environments in the country.

See you in 2026, with Europe’s smartest radio station fully operational and bringing even more surprises!
