On October 30, 2025, the new radio year officially begins — bringing with it an exciting new era for European School Radio!

Through the European program Kids Radio Europe, European School Radio is undergoing a major upgrade:

  • Upgraded Services & User Experience: Our platform is gaining advanced features. The user experience is improved, and our rich audio content (shows and podcasts) becomes more accessible, easily searchable thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence, and more readily usable for educational purposes.
  • Expanding Audience & Participation The student radio is broadening its horizons, embracing a wider audience both geographically and institutionally. From now on, non-formal education organizations across Europe for children and teenagers up to 18 years old can actively participate in our radio program.
  • Two Interfaces, One Platform. To attract listeners and participants from across Europe, we are introducing a new “sister” site.
Official launch on October 30: European School Radio now also becomes Youthradio.eu!
  • European School Radio and Youthradio.eu together form a single multilingual and accessible podcast and radio platform for educational institutions, children, and teenagers — with two distinct faces! It will include all radio shows/podcasts (old and new) and will continue to be enriched.
While the appearance and access points may differ, the advanced functionality and capabilities for educators and learners remain the same!

How European School Radio / Youthradio.eu Can Be Used

  • As an independent School Activity Program

  • As a Skills Workshop Program, either under the thematic area Create and Innovate – Creative Thinking and Initiative – STEM – Robotics, or as an educational methodology in any program you choose (radio or music productions for the online student radio European School Radio).

  • As an Active Citizenship initiative, for awareness or public information projects.

  • Across all school subjects, adapted to the goals and content of each discipline. For example:

    • Language & Literature: written production, text decoding, text transformation, broadcasting

    • Informatics: software and equipment for radio production

    • Music: composition, songwriting, and music production

  • As a program implemented in the framework of full-day schools, after regular classes, or as an extracurricular activity in a non-formal education center.
