“Easter customs and songs from Greece” | Developed Educational Scenario

Easter customs and songs from Greece

What students are supposed to have gained after all the procedure is
to be able to produce written and oral speech. Moreover, we expect
students to collaborate with their peers in groups during all the
stages of the procedure. We emphasize on collaboration, exchange
of ideas and knowledge, discovery of new knowledge, and decision making ability. All these are very important elements of the
educational process.
Using the brainstorming technique, the educator tries to investigate
students’ prior knowledge of the Easter customs. Moreover, he/she
tries to find out the origin of the various customs. Students in groups
are invited to search on the internet for information and songs
relevant to the topic. Students should note down all relevant
information in written form. At the next stage, students are asked to
convert their texts to predesigned spoken/radio speech.
During the radio production recording, students take on various roles
(speaker, sound engineer…). Apart from that, they decide the show’s
structure, the songs’ sequence, as well as they practice on the use of
sound engineering and audio editing software.
