8.Record your shows #

Record your shows

Read some basic guidelines regarding the recording of your broadcasts/audio files:

  • Find a quiet place to record in.

  • Use a simple microphone that connects easily to your computer. Try it and listen to the result. If you hear wind, attach the microphone and cover it with a noise-absorbing material (a sponge). If you are willing to spend some money then you can get a USB microphone that have excellent performance (ranging from about 40-150 euros).

  • The broadcasts transmitted are mp3 audio files.

  • Each show you prepare and submit for broadcast is one (1) single audio file (mp3) containing everything needed for our show.

  • One important detail: the issue of the COPYRIGHT of music and songs has been centrally settled and should not concern you. You may use whatever music you wish.

  • For the recording and editing of your broadcasts you can use any relevant program you wish. We recommend the free software Mixxx and Audacity which are described in detail here.

European School Radio offers you its own software for recording and editing your shows or podcasts! Follow the instructions to find it in your Library, discover its features below and use it!
